Fishing in the great state of
MASSACHUSETTS
We are very fortunate to have both the Quabbin
Reservoir, with it's landlocked Salmon and lake trout fishing in early
spring, followed by some truly exceptional bass fishing the rest of the
year, and the Connecticut
River, with some of the best bass and catfish fishing to be had anywhere
in New England. Both of these locations are less than 1/2 hour away {Conn.
river 10 min.}. We are mainly boat fishermen, I have a 19 ft. Alumacraft
with a 70, and 20 HP on it. Quabbin has a 20 HP max .limit on engines.
Quabbin Reservoir is the water supply for the city of Boston, a large lake,
about 25 miles long, with clear water, and no homes or cottages to be seen
anywhere.
The bald eagle was reintroduced here and is doing
very well, a day of fishing will always include the sighting of five or
more. I fish mostly with my sons and their children, and being retired,
I fish a lot. There is also a small group of old friends, that I go out
with, all retired also. Fishing has always played a large role in my life,
but now that I'm retired, and have so much free time, it is a wonderful
way to spend a warm summer day.
