Normal maple comes in two classifications, soft and hard. Soft maple (which is 2 times harder than red oak)
is sawn primarily from red maple trees.
Norwegian and swamp maples are also used. Hard maple species most used are sugar and black maple trees. The lumber from these are the most dense we work in.
