Custom Made Antiqued Northern White Pine Furniture
by Delnero Custom Furniture
Custom Made Handcrafted Furniture
Northern White Pine is available in both clear (click on picture to the right) and antiqued
grades (picture on left).
When pine trees grow close enough as they did many years ago, the bottom branches die off yielding large trunks of knot free lumber. It's harder to find these days. We can buy oak and regular maple for less than what it costs to buy clear pine. We use it to reproduce furniture similar in appearance to that of the craftsmen of old.
We take planks of Northern White Pine with interesting character and natural imperfections, and use them to create many of the pieces found in our Early Setter's line. Some advantages of using new lumber to create old looking pieces are, the client can have the pine custom stained or painted to any hues desired, and the lumber cost much less than century old wood, making the finished product more affordable.
Though books on Early American, Colonial, and Shaker furniture often show pictures of pieces done in various hardwoods, these groups primarily used the many species found in the pine family.
This Rustic Tall Clock is an example of custom made Nothern White Pine furniture by Delnero Pine Furniture.
